Traveling Abroad
Another “Goodbye, for now!” for the Pools
June 15th Elder Nephi Pool and Elder Elijah Pool have spent five weeks in the Provo, UT MTC and it is their last day together.
We know that it was a blessing for them to attend training over these first weeks in the same training center. They made so many memories, likes these ….
Elder Elijah Pool even spent a little time on the piano
while in Provo!
The time came for the two brother missionaries to say “Goodbye, for now!”.
They know they will see each other again in 23 months when they are reunited with the rest of their family.
Elder Nephi Pool left the next day with his district and traveled to Manila, Philippines for additional training in country.
Elder Elijah Pool left the next day and traveled solo from Provo to Chile to be in his first assigned area! He was at least able to travel to the Provo airport with his awesome companion and another missionary.
While Elder Elijah Pool waited to board his flight, a beautiful member of the church saw him waiting on his own and had a conversation with him. Her and her family were also traveling. Their kindness was a blessing for many reasons!
When they parted ways, this sister went into one of the Facebook groups where families of missionaries are like a support system for each other. She posted a picture she took of Elder Elijah Pool and said:
Just met and had a nice little visit in the airport this morning with Elder Pool from Missouri who is on his way to Chile! He seems happy and ready to serve! Thought I’d share this photo here in case any family or friends of Elder Pool are part of this group.
You can imagine how comforting seeing this was for a mama who had not yet heard from either of her traveling missionaries.
Tender mercies.
