March - June 2024
It was a mad rush to get everything checked off of their list for mission prep! We are grateful for the church website and the steps you take to make sure your missionary has everything they need.
One lesson learned: just go ahead and get your passport started even BEFORE you receive your mission call. It took almost the entire three months to receive ours. After hours and hours of calling the passport office, driving to Hot Springs and paying for expedited everything …. Nephi and Elijah’s passports came in the mail 36 hours before getting on the plane!!!
WHEW
Nephi and Elijah spent as much time as humanly possible with cousins, friends and other family before they would have to say goodbye for now. Spending time with cousins that live nearby is something they love to do. It was special when cousins that live out of state were able to come see them. We were able to make some lasting memories!
We made sure to spend some time playing disc golf as a family in Arkansas, which is Courtney’s favorite place.
We cannot forget the memorable day when Nephi and Elijah chose to make special covenants with Heavenly Father in the Bentonville, AR temple. This was one of the most beautiful days of our lives.
Courtney, Natalie, Nephi and Elijah stood together as one in a most sacred Celestial Room where you can feel Heavenly Father’s presence. Family, friends and many worthy Priesthood holders who helped raise and influence Nephi and Elijah over the years, joined us in support of these young men’s decision. It takes a village, as they say. We are eternally grateful for their examples.
